CuTt6: cd symlink “/” autocomplete

Copper’s Tips & Tricks #6: cd symlink autocomplete

I found myself questioning everything why do I have to double tap tab whenever I want to autocomplete a symlinked directory vs a normal directory. And then, that question urged me to google, and google I did, and found the answer I did, and here it is, for all of you everyday console questioners out there:

$ touch ~/.inputrc
$ cat >> ~/.inputrc
set mark-symlinked-directories on
^C

And from then on (on the server you added that to) any symlinked directories will not require you to double tap tab in order for the tab autocomplete to add the slash at the end.

Happy tab-tab autocompleting!
